    Current News:

January 18, 2002 - Compholio announces intent to create a Battle.net proxy server compatible with all Blizzard games and the Whiskeyclone bot. This software should take care of the problems with most proxy clients connecting to Battle.net. Compholio is hoping to add support for Diablo II which, as of yet, cannot connect to Battle.net through a proxy connection due to problems with the SocksCap application. It is intended that a client would modify their Battle.net server list to include their proxy server (applications such as the Bnet Gateway Configurator perform this task) and the proxy server would then run bnproxy, which would pass their communication on to Battle.net. This can already be done with some proxy servers, however, Battle.net is informed that you are not connecting to the same address that the server is located at. In order to take care of this problem, Compholio will attempt to modify communications between the client and Battle.net so that Battle.net thinks that you are connecting to it directly. If Compholio is successful (or unsuccessful) we should know shortly, the major obstacle being the proxy's ability to trick Battle.net into thinking that the client is communicating with a direct connection. If this project is successful, the source code will be posted on this site.

December 15, 2001 - Compholio finishes "ruining" site GUI. Compholio will be working on Whiskeyclone during Christmas break, unless otherwise noted.

December 03, 2001 - OK kiddies, I've switched our server off that pathetic Angelifire host and onto SourceForge because it supports CGI, PHP, and mySQL. Hopefully my comrade and I will be able to work on our bot once again. I've changed the format of the website from SHTML to PHP which I find to be faster and a little bit easier to manage. More goodies are on the way; perhaps a newsletter? I haven't quite delved into all the services SourceForge has to offer but they've got some good ones for us developers. I'm going to be working mostly on the background scripting for the site for now, so no asthetic changes quite yet. I have added an Administrator section to attempt to make a web-based editing shell for the site so I don't have to keep shelling in through SSH and using pico, not like that adds to anything to the average user's experience sorry. Plus, I've also moved the news onto it's own seperate page so you don't have to scroll through the FAQ to get to it.

September 9, 2001 - Sorry about the lack of updates this month, but school has started up yet again and sadly, schoolwork comes before programming. Work still continues on Whiskeyclone, but at a slower pace.

August 13, 2001 - Posted the source code for Whiskeyclone and added some screenshots. Also did some other minor site work.

August 12, 2001 - Posted the main Whiskeyclone website. I'm not sure if I'll keep the interface like this or not.
